4. Oaxaca, Mexico celebrates the radish in a festival called Noche de los RĂ¡banos (Radish Night) on December 23rd as a part of Christmas celebrations. Locals carve religious and popular figures out of radishes and display them in the town square.

6. Radish is in the cruciferous family.

8. It can be planted in the early spring and throughout the summer in the mountains. In the Coastal Plain, radish can be planted from February to mid May and August to October.
